Flip the Script—Have a HEALTHY holiday!
Have you ever heard any of these? (Or maybe even said it yourself?) “Oh, it’s the holidays…It doesn’t matter…I’ll just wait…I don’t want to think about food right now…Maybe after the holidays…The ________ are my seasonal weakness…You know Grandma’s peanut butter balls—I’m not skipping those!...I’ll start in the New Year.”
Around the office, you’ll hear us say—"Let's flip the script on that!!!” These phrases are a perfect time to “flip the script”.
Thanksgiving & Christmas are a DAY…not holidayS, with an S. No letter “s” involved. Yes, there is also Christmas Eve, as well as New Year’s Eve. So just four days. If you take a look at the graphic, you’ll see that the number of meals that might have unhealthy temptations and cause you to be off protocol are greatly outnumbered by the meals that you can choose to eat healthy and on protocol. (We’re not only talking words and adding “s” today, but we’re also making you do math!) With the 5 holiday meals, as well as a generous 5 parties/events, that’s 10 “potential” meals off protocol. On the other hand, there are STILL 107 healthy, on-protocol meals during the next 39 days!
So “flip the script” on how you approach the rest of the year with your thoughts and words…“Even with the holiday meal, I felt confident on protocol…I was satisfied with one peanut butter ball instead of making myself sick…I loaded my plate up with veggies (at the potluck), was full, so I didn’t even need to have pie…I’m stronger than my weakness for the _________...I’m so glad I started with I did!”
If you are currently on protocol, don't even think of giving up on your health goals! You can do this!
